See Miranda Lambert's Fabulous Makeover in 'We Should Be Friends' Video

Singer gets a style transformation and mood lift alongside songwriters Natalie Hemby and Waylon Payne in colorful new clip

Miranda Lambert updates her look in the "We Should Be Friends" video.

There's nothing like a stop by the beauty shop to give your mood (and your hair) a lift. In Miranda Lambert's lighthearted new video for "We Should Be Friends," the singer and a couple of her closest pals hit their local shop for a pick-me-up.

In the fun, colorful Trey Fanjoy-directed clip, Lambert, rocking a denim jacket that says "music is medicine," and real-life friends like songwriters Natalie Hemby and Waylon Payne hang out in a small-town salon, getting blowouts and manicures. The group filmed the video at an actual salon in Watertown, Tennessee.

The scene is reminiscent of the 2001 Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy Legally Blonde, complete with tiny dogs and group dancing (although without, notably, any bends or snaps). A humorous high point comes when Hemby leaves the waxing room with a pained expression, Lambert and Payne looking on in laughter.

"We Should Be Friends" is the latest single off Lambert's 2016 double album, The Weight of These Wings. Both Hemby and Payne contributed songs to that album, which was Rolling Stone Country's second favorite album of the year.

Lambert is up for two awards at this weekend's Grammy Awards ceremony. She's currently out on her Highway Vagabond Tour, which visits Reading, Pennsylvania on February 23rd.
