Infamous Stringdusters' song "Gravity" lives up to its title – an urgent, serious love song written by the band's Travis Book and his wife Sarah Siskind about two people fighting to make it work. In the video for that song, from the album Laws of Gravity, the bittersweet story unfolds in glorious, cinematic fashion.
Against the backdrop of western desert, the clip pictures a young couple trying to stave off their inevitable separation. They break into a swimming pool, share a milkshake, walk along a rocky shoreline, dance at a bonfire – all while the Stringdusters' harmonies plead "Don't let go," amid descending spirals of banjo and Dobro. While the relationship described in the song sounds like a victorious one, the onscreen couple doesn't appear to be so fortunate, embracing tightly before the forces of circumstance pull them apart.
Laws of Gravity was released in January and marks the seventh studio recording by the acoustic band, comprising Book, Andy Hall, Andy Falco, Chris Pandolfi and Jeremy Garett. Next up, they'll resume their spring and summer touring schedule with a May 6th show in New Orleans.
