Garth Brooks was named Entertainer of the Year at the 50th CMA Awards in Nashville. The annual show also recognized a number of rising artists, from Brothers Osborne, Vocal Duo of the Year winners, to New Artist victor Maren Morris.
Chris Stapleton repeated in the Male Vocalist category, with Carrie Underwood, who co-hosted the show with Brad Paisley, triumphed as Female Vocalist – her fourth win in the category.

And the show opened with an all-star medley of hits by Charlie Daniels, Charley Pride, Alabama, Dwight Yoakam, Alan Jackson and more. Underwood's contribution was particularly soaring: an amazing take on Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man."
