The Rolling Stone Cover Contest In The News
Since its official announcement on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" Monday night (see above), the “So You Wanna Be A Rock & Roll Star” contest has generated a lot of buzz across the web. Beyond the all-in efforts of the 16 bands to promote themselves (via YouTube, Facebook and Twitter), the media has been highly responsive in just the first few days.
Many local television stations and newspapers have gotten behind the contest by profiling bands from their region. Access Hollywood also picked up on the contest Wednesday, mentioning the unsigned band contest on both their morning and evening broadcasts.
Here are a few of our favorite mentions online so far:
Competing for the Cover of the Rolling Stone [New York Times]
Rolling Stone' searches for the greatest unsigned band [USA Today’s Pop Candy]
Help an Unknown Band Get Its Picture on the Cover of Rolling Stone [Mashable]
Round One comes to a close on March 2nd, so if you haven’t rated your favorite band yet, check out the artists and help spread the word.
