The Choose the Cover contest finalists traveled down to Bonnaroo last weekend to perform the biggest show of their career to date in front of the massive festival's huge crowd of music lovers. We followed both the Sheepdogs and Lelia Broussard around all weekend, documenting their performance as well as their experience hanging out and catching other bands at the festival.
Choose Rolling Stone's Cover: The Sheepdogs vs. Lelia Broussard. Vote Now!
In these new videos, you can watch the artists open up about what it meant to play for so many people, and what they're looking forward to now that the competition is winding down. It's not over yet, though, so if you haven't yet, vote for your favorite! The winner will appear on the cover of Rolling Stone in August and sign a contract with Atlantic Records.
"There's no doubt that this gig is a lucky break for us," says Sheepdogs frontman Ewan Currie. "This time last summer, we were playing a really nice, fun festival in our home province for about two, three thousand people maybe." Without getting cocky about it, the guys are definitely optimistic about their future. "A year from now, who knows what we'll be doing. We'd love to be playing the main stage," says drummer Sam Corbett. "We never knew anything like this was possible, so anything's possible."
"It was definitely the biggest crowd I've ever played for," Broussard says of her Bonnaroo set. "It was cool to see fans come out right before I went on stage. I was kinda like, about to cry, because I was so excited. I was just like 'Listen, bitch, you better not cry and you better hold your shit together!'"
