I heart Him in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and funny in Soap Dish

Peter | August 18, 2008 4:58 PM

Also Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is outstandingly entertaining

Should have mentioned A Scanner Darkly. It's unreal especially Downey in it. Great actor, likely my favorite.

He was amazing in Less Than Zero, and I Loved Home For The Holidays too!! He was super creepy yet kinda funny in In Dreams..I know, not a great movie but he stole it!

He is an amazing actor and it's sad some people came here to rip into him. He's made an incredible amount of films, and he always manages to get your attention.

I will always adore the guy.
I still have to see Tropic Thunder!

Downey is a piece of crap! His movies are the lowest form of garbage. Go smoke some more crack and shoot some more smack, Bob. You make me want to throw up, you pathetic excuse for an actor!

keithmoon | August 12, 2008 8:08 PM

The Singing Detective, Kiss,Kiss,Bang Bang...under-rated performances.

Je suis Lidiane | August 12, 2008 3:10 PM

Oh c'mon!!!! You people are forgetting the seminal role in RDJ's amazing career...in Rodney Dangerfield's "Back To School"

I love Robert Downey Jr. i am going to watch all of his movies. This has been my goal for a while now. I think he is a great actor and I totally agree with Peter Travers, he will be around for a very long time. Obviously Iron Man is his roll, but I think that everybody should look into his other works like US Marshalls. He is an awesome bad guy. I think that Robert Downey Jr. will never be forgotten.

NATURAL BORN KILLERS!!!!

"Home for the Holidays". He and Holly Hunter were perfect toghther. One of my favorite movies. A must see at Thanksgiving.

Great video and nice comments about Downey. Thanks so much Peter. I have loved every movie he has been in ... he is a brilliant actor, and charming, charismatic sweet man. As one director described him ... any role he does, he takes it to the next level... always makes it better than the script.

He has an amazing creative mind. His portrayal of Chaplin was over the top ... he WAS Chaplin.... and of course "Iron Man" was a perfect example of his brilliance. His future will be filled with amazing feats ... in acting, possibly directing, writing .... who knows. I think he can do anything he tries brilliantly.

Whateverman | August 10, 2008 12:52 AM

Iron Man was overrated and Travers is retarded for giving Pineapple Express a good review, it was the worst movie of the year.

I think what I liked most about "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" was how Downey's character broke the fourth wall several times during the movie and talked to the audience. He addressed both "Times Square audiences" and people from the Midwest during the movie. Although I'm from the Midwest, I was living in NYC at the time and saw the movie in Times Square. Hilarious movie; should have done much better in the theatres.

Robert Downey, Jr. is a genius. He is brilliant, beautiful, and I can't wait to meet him in the after world.

Loved him in Restoration. Very underrated film, IMO.

Less than Zero will always be a great film but I really can not chose just one or two. As long as RDJ is in it it's good. The man has talent, plain and simple.

Christian | August 9, 2008 10:20 AM

Hey RS- Can't watch the clip on RDJ because the audio from that add keeps coming up. I'm not the first person to have a problem here. Fix it! Thanks!

Chikitita | August 9, 2008 2:32 AM

RDJ was great in every movie he did. Some of these movies were bad, but he was always terrific. He's a brilliant actor.

KalebKalebKaleb | August 8, 2008 10:48 PM

whoa whoa whoa. hold on. no A Scanner Darkley. that movie blew my mind and downey did an excellent job as the crazy, sneaky, drug addict. and haha did anybody know Downey was in Weird Science. haven't seen that movie you should, every fifteen year old's dream.

'anton | August 8, 2008 9:04 PM

=D | August 8, 2008 8:39 PM

omg hot

THX-1138 | August 8, 2008 3:43 PM

I can think of three other great films which feature strong supporting roles by Downey, Jr-

Short Cuts, in which Downey was just one of out of a cast of many fine actors who were all a part of this giant social webwork of a story.

Natural Born Killers- in which he played Wayne Gayle, a sleazy exploitative Australian journalist who covers the killing spree of Mickey and Mallroy Knox. A wonderfully over-the-top performance.

Good Night and Good Luck- Once again, Downey Jr. as part of an outstanding ensemble of actors re-enacting one of the most important events not only in television history, but in 20th Century American politics.

Freakjuice | August 8, 2008 2:47 PM

Robert Downey, Jr. was also great in 'Two Girls and a Guy'(1998). The scene with Heather Graham was wild. It's great to see him back. You can't stop a good actor.
