I would have to say Serpico is my favorite earlier Sidney lumet film, but I absolutely loved "Before the Devil Knows You're dead."

Hard to pick a favorite among his films. I would have to say Network by a hair. Other classics include 12 Angry Men, A Long Day's Journey Into Night, Fail Safe, The Pawnbroker, Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, Prince of the City, Running on Empty and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Sidney is right up there with Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock when it comes to making compelling films that you can watch over and over time and time again. Quite possibly my favorite director of all time.
