Photo: Wargo/WireImageS.S. favorites the Mars Volta will release their fifth studio album and follow-up to last year's The Bedlam in Goliath on June 23rd.
Octahedron was written, as usual, by guitarist Omar Rodriguez Lopez and vocalist Cedric Bixler Zavala. The first single for the album will be "Since We've Been Wrong," but no word on when that song will be released.
There will also be a Volta tour across the U.S., but no dates have been confirmed. For now, plan on catching them at Bonnaroo in Tennessee and the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco.

We'll see ya there.

Tmv are on their own level! No other band can produce the music they make, despite their pathetic efforts.

I really appreciate this bands dedication to avoiding trite repetitive pop fluff. Even if it means they miss a lot, when they get it right it is breathtaking. Ilyena's web felt more frantic and terrified than any song I've ever heard. It was as if they had to play for their very lives.
