At Last! South Park Takes on the Jonas Bros.

March 12, 2009 11:22 AM

It took us a while, but we just realized why the Jonas Brothers exist!

Why? So they could be torn to pieces by Matt and Trey from South Park!

In last night's episode, the debut of season thirteen, Kenny was stoked that he was dating a fifth grade whore, eager to get his first BJ. But when the girl met the Jonas Brothers, they coerced her into wearing a promise ring, and made her vow to abstain from sex. So Kenny never got his BJ.

The episode also tore the Disney franchise to shreds. Mickey Mouse (AKA Mr. Mouse) appeared as a sex-crazed Svengali and backhanded promoter of purity rings.

It was genius!

they rock!!!!! duran is sooooooooooo cute

quinten | August 9, 2009 10:05 PM

how can you actually think they are talented musicians? they HIRE a drummer, who plays the most stationary and repetitive beats and fills. Their "guitarist" plays simplistic chords, I don't even think he knows WHAT a power chord is.

And their "vocalist" makes me want to take it up the ass by a 13 inch donkey cock. He's that bad. Their lyrics? "oh baby I miss you, why can't you love me oh oh"

Little girls and those stupid teenage fucks eat this shit up. OH my god, these lyrics mean so much! oh my god! they're so amazing gawd!!!

No. Because teenagers don't know what love is. If you really think these guys are talented, you need to really get your choice of music on check. These guys are just corporate sell outs like Hannah Montana for the inflammation that is Disney.

Thank you south park, thank you very much.

These kids have everything about them. They are extremely talented musicians, that can hold their own with just about anyone. Rolling Stone should do a piece on them. Their fan base reminds me a little of what the deadheads did back in the 60's and 70's. These kids will be huge soon and here to stay for awhile. The most appealing thing is that parents can finaly listen to a band their kids like as well...go daisies...

KDFAN | June 24, 2009 11:03 AM

Kicking Daisies, kicks ass, unbelievable talent and tight as any pro band can wish to get. Get ready world, ROCK is back.

david mel | June 23, 2009 9:24 AM

My daughter is KICKING DAISIES biggest fan. We've been to every show in the past 4 months & even though they have only been together less than a year, they are tight! They are based here in CT, but Duran is from Florida. All original songs with a couple covers thrown in ... HOT FOR TEACHER being one. They are the nicest kids in the world & are well managed with all parents contributing ... a well-oiled machine ready for the big time. I'd hate to tell any headlining bands to put them on their bill, because KD will blow them off the stage! The oldest member is Caitlin who currently holds the title of WORLD'S FASTEST FEMALE DRUMMER. I am a drummer myself for 30 years & I've never seen a girl dominate a set like her. Her sister Carly plays bass to form a very steady foundation for their pure hard rock sound. The girls are excellent singers as well, which is probably my favorite part of their sound ... very tasty backgrounds. Duran is the frontman & can be seen jumping off speakers, writhing on the floor & getting the crowd worked up ... provides great singing, guitar & stage prescence. Ben is a master of his instrument ... a 12-year old guitar prodigy. He's only been playing for two years, but can peel off a Joe Satriani or Eddie Van Halen lick within as much as a deep breath. His prescence is more of a metalhead from the 80's with a long mane of jet black hair constantly being tossed around in sync with the music. I am providing all this info for anyone interested in checking out the NEXT BIG THING ... they will be in your face very soon.

alex the great | June 16, 2009 3:46 PM

they do play there real instruments and i've seen them live and they are unbelievable! the energy that the singer duran has, and how ben plays guitar just incredible.

Mickey Mouse again | June 14, 2009 11:12 AM

OK...so I just left the last comment about this band kickin daisis and said i never heard of them. I just went and checked them out. if they are really playing they are really good. are they like the jonas crap where they don't play their real instruments? I'd have to see them live to see if there really good. the video to the song called JUST GO is better then any of that kid crap that's out there. will they be going on tour? have they been in rolling stone?

MickeyMouse | June 14, 2009 10:58 AM

LOL....great episode. Funnier then shit!! If this kicking daisies band is so good why haven't I heard of them?

NYSAM | June 9, 2009 12:39 PM

Great episode LMAO the hole time. Why is everyone talking about this band kicking daisis???????????

brandX | June 9, 2009 11:03 AM

ReBarstiff | June 1, 2009 11:49 AM

marquis mark | May 29, 2009 3:17 PM

I saw a kid in a florida mall wearing a Kicking Daisies T shirt. I said who is kicking daisies ? Then I found out for myself on You Tube. Awesome musac man

Maggot | May 20, 2009 9:41 AM

Good show, I think u guys did a great job with this episode. I think there is more truth displaying the no talent market driven Jonas machine. I did look at this band Kicking Daisies and they blew me away. Real talent driven musicians and great music.

Mikel-fan | May 11, 2009 3:13 PM

South Park is a hilarious show due to the fact that it is not afraid to make fun of a company or a person that is famous.

Mike | May 11, 2009 12:40 PM

Who are these kids KICKING DAISIES? I think I have to chcek them out. I'll report back if I like them

Dawnathan | May 9, 2009 12:05 PM

Kicking Daisies could also be called 'Kicking Jonas' 'cos they are going to kick the Jo Bros right off the face of the music world! I've seen them do live electric & acoustic shows & I had to pick my jaw off the ground each time. They are true musicians.

NYC Rockscene | May 7, 2009 10:34 AM

Rock is reborn with Kicking Daisies. I saw these kids play live in CT and was blown away. The lead guitarist is a young Eddie Vanhalen, the drummer is great, incredible band and music. The future looks bright for rock again.

KickingDaisiesFan | May 7, 2009 8:54 AM

comparing Kicking Daisies to Jonas bogus is like comparing Led Zeppelin to tiny tim. kicking daisies r real kid musicians that are incredible rock musicians, they play live the same as there cd's. Try putting Jonas's alone on stage with them alone playing, enough said. Rock on KD

Tommy | April 30, 2009 9:48 PM

LOL...how did kicking daisies become part of a south park thread? I did a search for them and found this. This is awesome.

KD's ROCK

Connecticut Musician | April 30, 2009 2:10 PM

My nephew dragged me to see this band KICKING DAISIES....now I'm glad I went. Real kids playing real music!! Four extremely talented kids especially the girl drummer OMG!!!! She's like the best I've ever heard...the guitar player was ripping it up too, bass and singer we're very good also...the entire band was great and great songs too.

I hope they take over the Jonas Brothers and show kids that hard work and learning your instrument the right way can pay off. Jo Bros are fake, these kids are real.

Kicking Daisies are gonna be big | April 29, 2009 2:45 AM

I have heard several songs on myspace and youtube from the kicking daisies and think that they are going to be big, very big.

very young band but extraordinary talent

Morpheaus | April 18, 2009 12:39 AM

I read about that band Kicking Daisies then checked them out on myspace. Wow they're on a whole different level than the J Bros.
The only thing they have in common is that they are both young bands but Kicking Daisies are all amazing musicians and will probably be around making great music long after we've forgotten Nick's last name. But keep rockin youngins.

Tara | April 17, 2009 5:40 PM

Wow!!! I've seen that band Kicking Daisies in Ct and they pretty much destroid the Jonas Brothers

Bill (You knooow Bill) | April 13, 2009 9:21 PM

More like the BJ Brothers

concerned | April 11, 2009 2:32 PM

Wait, SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER *** Kenny did get his BJ. He died of syphilis. *** SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER

Casey | April 10, 2009 8:08 PM

One of the best South Park episodes I've seen in a while. Simply genius, the Mickey Mouse character, their impression of the Jonas Brothers, and Disney's real goal thinly disguised by the purity rings.

The Jonas Brothers are an insult to music, not even my kid sister likes them. I'm so glad South Park was so thorough with this episode.

Jason | April 10, 2009 2:18 AM

Why, are the Jonas Brothers are above parody? F**k the Jonas Brothers and that pre-packaged adolescent crap. MrsNickJonas, I sure hope you haven't graduated high school.
Excellent episode, loved the way they broke open Disneys marketing of sex to tweens.

lol | April 10, 2009 12:24 AM

you. dont. fucking. talk. to. me. like. that.
you. little. piece. of. shit!

LOL that was definitely the best part

thevm | April 9, 2009 5:36 PM

"They play real music (not over produced garbage..."

Huh?

I'd like to comment further on this observation, but I think that reading it gave me a brain aneurysm.

Off to the ER!

mrsnickjonas | April 7, 2009 12:42 PM

ok...this was just horrible..and the jonas brothers being such nice guys said...it was an honor to be featured on the show...come on..whoever hates on jb im sorry that ur own personal problem..but all im asking is if u have a problem change the channel..close the link...flip the page..BUT DONT INSULT THE JONAS BROTHERS!!!!

New Fan | March 21, 2009 9:58 AM

There's a new band of kids somewhere around NY or the North east that is selling out shows and sweeping over the area. They play real music (not over produced garbage...and they play their instruments for real) and put on a killer show. I saw them in hartford ct and they blew me away....I think the name is KICKING DAISIES....

inconsistent or heterogenous | March 16, 2009 7:32 PM

Joel, keep in mind that the people reviewing and putting people on covers aren't the same people editorializing on this blog.

Furthermore, I'd bet even the people rating them don't like it. They rank it in terms of what they think their audience would rank it. They need money to keep working, and that means they need people to buy their magazines. You can't have that if you tell your target audience that they have poor appreciation of art.

They are slaves to what their customers want to hear.

Joel | March 16, 2009 9:53 AM

I love how people rip on Jonas Brothers like this, but I don't like how Rolling Stone is agreeing on it. Is this the same Rolling Stone ripping on Jonas Brothers as the one that gave their album four and half stars out of five?
I really hate when magazines are inconsistent.

Bill | March 14, 2009 7:59 AM

You waka discwapwine, I don't need no discwapwin

Ed Ved | March 13, 2009 6:19 PM

This was an all-time episode.

Mr. Mackay | March 13, 2009 11:32 AM

this is not appropriate behaviour...mmmkayyyy!
picking on people is badd!

iowa | March 12, 2009 4:11 PM

my girlfriend and I about peed our pants when Mickey came on ("Ha Ha!") and kicked the shit out of Joe..? whatever Jonas it was, it was fucking hilarious. Trey and Matt are geniuses.
