The speculation has finally been put to rest. After fans tried to unravel the Nine Inch Nails/Jane's Addiction puzzle Trent Reznor presented to them in the form of pictures on the NIN website and cryptic Twitter messages, the game is over.
As we predicted, Reznor is producing a new Jane's album (the first since 2003's Strays). And the bands will tour together later this year!
The rub is that Reznor has decided that this will be the last NIN tour for some time. In a post on the NIN forum, he writes: "2009 marks the 20th anniversary of our first releases. I've been
thinking for some time now it's time to make NIN disappear for a while."
Just how long "a while" means is hard to tell, but the last time NIN went on hiatus it took six years for a new album to emerge!

Already got my ticket. Can't f'n wait. Two of my 3 favorite rock band's of all time. STP being the other (and I saw NIN play with them last summer!). Seen Jane's a few time's, but it's been since '91 since the REAL DEAL has shown itself... with a new Reznor produced record to re-introduce Jane's to their darker influences, it should be a master piece. Plus Reznor's coneceptual guidance in the studio should make for the most cohesive Jane's album ever. Best show of the summer. Can't wait. Absolutely Can't wait! I really enjoyed the elaborate set & visual dynamics of the "Light's in the Sky Tour", so IDK if I really want to see it stripped down. No, it'll make for a totally different experience, definitely a good idea instead of touring the same show again. I believe but am not certain, that Jane's is the closing band... Trent would be classy enough to make sure that Jane's has proper placement and respect. Dig it!
