The Bonnaroo line-up was announced this morning and.... we're a bit underwhelmed with the headlining acts!
Two performances by Phish? (One is plenty.)
And Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band? (Sure, it'll be fun, but isn't Bruce totally played out these days?)
Anyway, to each their own.
Thankfully, the supporting cast should make us all happy.
Of course, we'll be descending on Tennessee once again thanks to the Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Mars Volta, Lucinda Williams, Al Green (our hero), Animal Collective, Snoop Dogg, Wilco, David Byrne, TV on the Radio, MGMT, Elvis Costello, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Ting Tings, among others.
Additional artists will be announced over the next few weeks, Let's pray that one of them is Stevie Wonder.
Tickets go on sale on Saturday February 7th and will be available on the Bonnaroo website.
Does Coachella's 2009 line-up look stronger than Bonnaroo?
Still too close to call.

Who cares about Phish? Everyone that does already has tickets to every show they're playing this summer. All music fans should be making sure Booker T. & The DBTs are playing at their favorite festival!

If it wasn't for bands like Phish there would be no Bonnaroo. The Roo needs to go back to it's roots and not be like that pretentious hipster fest that is Coachella. Phish should play all 3 nights.

I agree that 2 phish sets is bullshit, I would have put up with one. Coachella headliners are equally as bad(The Killers and the Cure), Paul McCartney might be worth the ticket if he plays old material. Bonnaroo has one hell of a supporting line up thats for true (Wilco, Snoop, Beastie Boys, Elvis Costello, Al Green, Allen Toussaint, Andre Bird) Looks like Bonnaroo has the better over-all line up.

Phuck Phish, but hooray for Elvis Costello. the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Lucinda Williams. And as much as I'd like to see Stevie Wonder, I know he'd like to see me even more.

Are you kidding me? This lineup is much better than Coachella's hands down.
