Imagine what rap would sound like if rappers read books...??? Instead of rollin down the street smokin indo, with their mind on their money and their money on their mind. Maybe they could make a valid usefull political statement. Maybe they could steer misguided youth away from being gangsters and pimps. Maybe they could coax respect for elders, respect for women and respect for right and wrong out of their highly impressionable listeners??... yeah right. Rap is centered around crime, drugs, disrespect, self indulgence, demoralizing women and pissing and moaning about how hard it is to grow up in the hood. Anything else wouldn't sell in this "niche" market they`ve created for themselves..... getting back to "self indulgence". ....Has anyone ever heard of a benefit rap concert that supports a worthwhile charity like "Illliteracy in the inner city". NO. The last thing these rappers want is for their listeners to read a book, or a news paper or just to learn how to read period. Most people who are well read don`t have the time or stomach to listen to morons ramble on in simple simon r-rated nursery rhymes about slappin ho`s and shooting at each other..... by all means,... PLEASE read a book.

Kanye is definitely a joke,and a racist. I`m sure he`ll continue to provide plenty of material for Stephen Colbert, and any other comedian, or regular joe who is in the mood for a good laugh. Who is Colbert? I don't know who he is either...and I stay informed. Kanye's new album is one of the Greatest of this Decade!!! Hands down! I am a musician and I don't give many props. Kanye may be conceited...but who cares? I don't. When you get hated on all your life and you finally get the chance to prove what you can do...you may rub peoples noses in it. I ain't mad at him for that. IF people stopped hatin' and just stayed in their nosey (I don't have a life so I'm just going to talk about what other people are doing) lanes, then maybe he wouldn't have become so cocky, it's you skill-less haters that made him that way. If you could do better, your opinion would mean something to someone, but you can't....so shut up and listen.

when kanye said, "who is stephen colbert", he wasn't pretending to not know who he is. he was saying that he doesn't matter. i would disagree, but maybe colbert doesn't seem significant to kanye or his world view. while not every one of kanye's songs is to my liking, he does have more talent in his little finger than half of the people making music on big labels today. that being said, he is arrogant as hell.
