Little Joy Enters the S.S.

Little Joy - "Unattainable"

One of the most pleasant musical surprises of 2008 was the debut album by Little Joy, the Brazilian-heavy trio featuring the Strokes' Fabrizio Moretti, Los Hermanos frontman Rodrigo Amarante and singer Binki Shapiro.

We were all quite hung over after LJ's New York debut at Mercury Lounge, but that morning they were kind enough to drop into the S.S. headquarters and play a few tunes.

Dig an awesome performance of "Unattainable" above, and click the jump for  "No One's Better Sake" and "The Next Time Around."

I had the pleasure of interviewing Binki the day their album dropped and I must say, what a nice gal.

The album creates the perfect combination of rock, folk and a little something extra that sets it apart from a majority of albums in 08.

Very cool Austin! Little Joy's album is excellent, I agree! Its cool to see Fab on the guitar because I always used to see pictures of he and Valensi playing acoustic together on the road. Its also cool to see Valensi on the drums in the music video, and Romano and Devendra playing percussion! Great post my man.
