Kid Rock has been named the Grand Marshal of the Endymion Parade at this year's Mardi Gras. The Endymion Parade is the largest and most popular parade to hit the streets of New Orleans during the annual festival.
The parade rolls out on February 21 and runs five miles through the city until it reaches the Superdome, where Rock, REO Speedwagon and the Zippers take the stage for a blowout concert. Along the parade route, spectators and party animals will be showered with beads, trinkets and collectibles.
Talk about your upgrade from last year, when American Idol dingleberry Taylor Hicks was the GM.
Mardi Gras is usually an amateur show with wasted binge-drinkers -- we prefer the more relaxed vibe of the city during Jazz Fest.
But we can't pass this debauchery up. We've already bought our plane ticket.
Come join us. Maybe we'll throw a big, stupid party down there.
