Crazy-ass Sly Stone was last seen speeding down Highway 101 on October 18th in Santa Rosa, California.
He hasn't been heard from since.
On the morning of a show day -- he was scheduled to perform in Santa Rosa, that night -- Sly was in L.A., where he fired his manager and commanded the gig's promoter to wire $3,000 to the bank account of an Iranian BMW saleswoman. Otherwise, he wouldn't board the plane that was scheduled to bring him to the gig.
After finally arriving in Northern California EIGHT hours late, Sly demanded to be taken to his hotel. His young Japanese girlfriend talked him out of it and they arrived at the show a half hour after it started, with the Family Stone, his band, jamming out tunes. Sly didn't hit the stage until the fifth song, and walked off 25 minutes later, SAYING HE HAD TO TAKE A PISS AND HE'D BE RIGHT BACK!
It gets better.
The band caught word of Sly trying to make a getaway from the gig, so they promptly left the stage and drove to the hotel Sly was supposed to be staying at. What followed was a six-vehicle car chase, a fight at a gas station, a sobbing Japanese woman and the disappearance.

He hasnt really vanished, he was on the radio a week after that for a college radio benefit.He was real lucid, made good points and was real informed and pretty wise about the buisness. I listened to the whole show , it lasted a good 20 minutes.He gave the hosts some good insight into whats goin'on and whats happenin.
I think you can hear the show on one of the Sly stone websites. Cant remember which one but its there.
