In a touching post on his blog, Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus writes about the recent tragedies that have struck the Blink universe. There was the passing of their longtime producer, Jerry Finn, followed by the horrendous plane crash that killed friends Chris Baker and Charles "Che" Still and left ex-Blink drummer Travis Barker with extensive burns.
According to Hoppus, the horrible events from the last two months have brought the three members of Blink-182 together again, after nearly four years of "not talking." In his blog posting, he hints at the possibility of a reunion.
"Tom, travis, and i have all spoken together. first through a number of
phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few
hours. they’ve all been great, very positive conversations. we’re just
reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking. it’s a good
thing. obviously the first question for a lot of people will be 'does
this mean a blink-182 reunion?' the answer is none of us know. we
haven’t talked about it at all. right now it’s just good for the three
of us to see one another, reconnect, and let the past be the past. the
events of the past two months supersede everything that happened
before. life is too short."
We're glad that the trio has reconnected as friends, but please never play again. It was bad enough when it happened the first time, and because of Blink's success we're now stuck with people like Avril Lavigne.
We rest our case.

Your a tool man, whoever wrote this... they are nohing like avril, sorry blink has great music and will continue to make Great music, there are millions of people who LOVE blink, and to say the least, I actually think they are the best band to play, and many others believe so too. thanks

Obviously the dude who wrote this hasnt listened to blink or avril lavigne enough, theyre not the same at all, to compare them together boggles my mind!
I just heard they are getting back together, im so excited! :D

If u seriously think that Avril Lavigne is any thing near Blink182, then I don't think you really get it! Blink182 was not some lame act like Avril Lavigne, If Blink182 didn't go down Avril Lavigne want survive a minute!
Blink182 rules man! that was what I grew up on! and besides I don't think that they'd ask your opinion if they were ever getting back together...They will get back together and when they do you'd better watch out!

Your magazine seemed to enjoy their last album a tremendous amount. But, of course, it's easy to write articles with the same tone as most of the posters on the forum.

would be cool if they announced one last USA + Europe tour and maybe did 1 last album and then called it quits, would be the perfect way to say bye to all the fans on a good note.

You can't be serious! Blink was my favorite band as a kid, and although that material doesn't stand up perfectly, their self-titled disc was phenomenal and years later still gets regular rotations.

Blink helped reignite the late 90s pop-punk genre. How the hell can you give them crap about a reunion?

Their self-titled last album was a great, underrated disc, and a huge departure from the comedy frat-boy pop-punk that spawned Avril and her ilk. You can trace what Tom's doing with Angels & Airwaves from here, though this album feels more grounded than AVA. Even Robert Smith made a guest appearance.
Anyway, if they ever end up recording again, I hope they pick up from where their last album left off and not just jump on the reunion bandwagon.
