Most cities across the country will slap you with a fine for a noise violation, but in Fort Lupton, Colorado, Municipal Judge Paul Sacco has employed a more effective manner in dealing with those who break the law by cranking their music too loud.
Repeat noise violation offenders must sit in a room and listen to shitty music. Barry Manilow and Barney the Dinosaur are just a couple of the audio-punishments.
Sacco came up with the idea after noticing that repeat offenders routinely show up in court and pay the small fine.
"These people should have to listen to music they don't like," he said. "Like Glenn Close trying to sing opera."

Shame on you Austin Scaggs
whoever the hell you are...
Open your mind to the above post -
Certainly you cannot be a musician -
or a person who appreciates musical creativity,
I don't know who "lordbean" above is,
but he's a friend of mine,
We have the same passion ---- it's called "music" -
and - I stand up for Barry Manilow.
I am passionate about music.
It saves my life - day after day.
Music is diverse and divine,
I listen to Fleet Foxes to Judy Garland and everything in betweeen.
I echo "lordbean" above in liking The Killers - "Human"
it's infectious, as is all their work,
as is Foo Fighters, etc. etc.....
and certainly back to Led Zeppelin who's recorded legacy continues to set
the bar for all time.....
I'm also crazy for Laura Nyro and Joni Mitchell, and
of course love Dusty Springfield's recordings,
which have paved the way for Duffy and Adele...
and kudos to Barry Manilow for suggesting that the great
Shelby Lynne record her catalog ....which she did beautifully...
My point being,
Shut your judgemental mouth,
open your narrow minded head,
and...
go deeper ....
listen to any Barry Manilow album, pick any one....
listen to what's between the million selling singles,
listen to the original compositions
listen to "All The Time"
listen to the arrangements,
listen to the lyric interpretation,
listen to the myriad of musical styles...
listen to "2:00 Paradise Cafe"
listen to "Here At The Mayflower"
just listen ----
he has made amazing music
for 30 years......
wake up!

Alright, I've had it. Before I say this, I must build my credibility first. Bob Dylan is one of my heros, Led Zeppelin are gods to me, and Jerry Lee Lewis is one of my all-time favorites. Also, I can't quit listening to the new Jenny Lewis album, along with "Human" by the Killers.
Barry Manilow is good. There, I said it. I don't tell many people this, but I like him, and I can't stand it when he's made fun of. I know fully well how cheesy he can be, and some of those videos I've seen from the '70s are awful. I can't stand "Copacabana."
But when you look past this, and I admit it's a bit hard at first, there are some songs by Manilow that are killer. His jazz album 2:00 Paradise Cafe is one of my favorites. His song "Stars in the Night" never fails to get me.
Call me gay, I don't care. It doesn't change the fact that he's a great.
