APRIL IN JUNE, how in the hell could Billy lose rights to songs that he owns the copyrights to? Songs that HE wrote himself? Virgin owns the right to keep mass-producing Pumpkins records that were recorded under the Virgin label, but they DO NOT own the songs.
P.R | October 27, 2008 12:54 PM
Love you PumPkins this dvd is gonna ROCK
Sammy | October 14, 2008 8:01 AM
The only pumpkin that needs smashed is that stupid bald scull of Billy's. Lord does this band suck ass. Give it up pumpkinheads! There is new music by new bands that don't blow goats.

unref | October 8, 2008 1:48 PM
Yes. Just getting javascript errors.:( That video-popup-function cannot be found (and indeed I can't find it while looking through the javascript source using web developer toolbar, so there's probably no one who can see it :) ). wtf?
Mary | October 8, 2008 1:16 PM
I also have the same problem, can't watch it
Zero | October 8, 2008 11:16 AM
Jep, i have the same problem with the video...
Luke | October 8, 2008 10:25 AM
Is anyone else having problems getting the video to load?
Steven | October 8, 2008 8:04 AM
No hits? Well, I got tired of hits. They are for fans who don't know their b-sides and rarities I guess...
APRIL IN JUNE | October 8, 2008 4:55 AM
Did anyone taker a good look at the tracklist of the new dvd? Not a single hit.. kinda sucks. I'm guessing they lost the rights when they dropped Virgin.. Still I'm actually watching a dvd of one of the nights right now (I went to 7 of them), and basically aside from Gossamer, none of the blowout songs are featured. Most of the songs listed on the dvd I remember actually being the sleepers of the 3 hour show. Anyway, do yourselves a favor.. get a bootleg of a few of the actual shows.
SAM | October 8, 2008 1:59 AM
the pumpkins are the greatest band ever,, billy n jimmy are the greatest musicians of our era and will continue to be forever
they always were , are now, and will continue to be the greatest band EVER!!!!
PERIOD
SoothsayersWrath | October 8, 2008 1:06 AM
The Pumpkins rocked harder / better in 2007 than they had since the MCIS era. That is not a slant on Adore or any album in between - but we all know Billy and Jimmy were the only ones playing on the albums. So based on concerts, unless you were at the Arising Tour, it's been 12 years since the band was "whole". So what the f u c k are you people whining about? Now let's see what they have in store for the 20th anniversary shows.
Doubtful-Della | October 8, 2008 12:22 AM
Geez people I'm so sick of the D'arcy and James whiners. They were invited back, they said no. Go YouTube it... Billy and Jimmy both said that they put the invite out there and they refused.
Lots of bands move on with different musicians. It doesn't make them a different band. And the new SP album(s) are a heck of a lot better than the Zwan phase.
A true fan that says the Pumpkins played "bullshit" songs can't grasp the musical talent of the band. The need to experiment and push the envelope. If you want to listen to the hits over and over, go put your CDs in the player or turn your Ipod on or whatever. But if you have any idea of what musical theory is, you would have understood the show.
Seriously, I've never been so happy to see my favorite band play for 3 hours. No stupid opening act that tires me out before the band I'm paying to see comes on. Yeah there were songs I didn't really know too well, but it opened my mind and heart and pulled me in each time.
Billy C. | October 8, 2008 12:10 AM
Who are the Smashing Punchkids?
20th Anniversary Shows | October 8, 2008 12:02 AM
Has anyone gotten tickets for the anniversary shows? I have nights 2-4 in Chicago, and want to get a V.I.P ticket for night 1. I hope they pull out all the stops. James, D'arcy, Jimmy and Billy will always be the "true" Pumpkins to me, but Jeff, Ginger and Lisa rock.
chris | October 7, 2008 11:40 PM
nice.. a dvd with some rare and good stuff as opposed to the hits we always hear.. cant wait.
cant wait to here rose march live on good speakers.
Misty | October 7, 2008 11:05 PM
Is none of the shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on this dvd? I thought to start with Billy said some of the shows from Asheville is on there? I don't want to buy this if this is the case and no orange peel????
Rommy | October 7, 2008 11:00 PM
Travis, the song is called "99 Floors". I think that's the one you mean. It's killer.
827 | October 7, 2008 9:28 PM
if you want to follow a band who doesn't grow and evolve from album to album, go listen to creed...i mean alter bridge...and you'll have the same sh*t over and over all you like.
Kajimi | October 7, 2008 9:11 PM
Yes I agree! Billy and Jimmy are the heart and soul of SP! Would have loved James and D'arcy back, but that's so 1990s. I'm not even sure they would fit with the new band now - I've seen SP 6 times since they rejoined and they ROCK better than ever!
Everyone has the right to their own opinion, so that's mine! I heart SP and I think Billy is a musical GOD!
Long live SP!!

this looks so awesome.
Forest | October 7, 2008 7:50 PM
I wish people would get over the past. The old band was awesome but they really kick ass now. I was present at their show at the woodlands and they rocked it out. Can't wait for the dvd. Billy you should never stop reaching for your goals and your dreams, thanks!

SMASHING PUMPKINS FOREVER
LATINOAMERICA LOVE TO SMASHING PUMPKINS
yesssssss | October 7, 2008 7:45 PM
I CAN'T WAIT to get this video!! And seriously... I'm so sick of people calling this "Zwan", the Pumpkins have always been primarily based around Billy's writing, with Jimmy's incredible interpretations (Adore was the exception). Of course all Pumpkins fans loved D'arcy & James, but shit happens... get over it. I for one am so thankful that the band is working and producing material again!
MMJ | October 7, 2008 7:30 PM
If I hear one more bad zwan joke.... you guys suck so bad.
Drew P. Wiener | October 7, 2008 4:50 PM
They should just call themselves Zwan.
Travis | October 7, 2008 2:59 PM
What is the name of the song they are singing in the beginning? Corgan said "I can not try.....". I know it's not Try, Try, Try!
Teo | October 7, 2008 1:16 PM
it's not a reunion, it's a revival.
chrispy | October 7, 2008 11:47 AM
i went to the show in FL they didn't play any of there hits. witch is not a bad thing but come on give me something ill still get the dvd am still a fan no matter who in the band and what they do. just wanted to hear 1979 one more time live.
PumpkinLove!:) | October 7, 2008 11:19 AM
always have loved what the pumpkins have been about! I love the fact that art has always been apart of the pumpkins records and lets face it, not everyone who looks at a piece of art gets what the artist is trying to say because it may not be for them but to those of us that do look at a work of art and connect to it, it becomes something special to that person and very personal. Thats the way a lot of Billys lyrics have connected to me and those songs have become a part of my soundtrack! So thank you for continuing to make music and making it an art form!!
Booman22 | October 7, 2008 8:12 AM
Let's face it Billy and Jimmy are and have always been the soul of the Smashing Pumpkins. New lineup, old lineup, whatever lineup, if they are present the Pumpkins can travel to new spaces. Can't wait for the DVD!
Another Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:38 AM
It's time to move on. The new members have proven they have what it takes. Clearly talented and hard working!
Anonymous | October 7, 2008 2:19 AM
To all the haters so far ...what happens if James and D'Arcy DIDN'T want to come back? ... They both quit the band and said they were done with the Pumpkins.
So what can Corgan and Chamberlin do then? They want to play the music the wrote as the Pumpkins ... are they meant to beg people to come back into a band that turned their back on the group? Hell no!
Long live the Smashing Pumpkins - Past Preset and Future!
Craig | October 7, 2008 1:20 AM
Is it really a reunion, when 2 of the 4 original members don't take part? I think it's more like Zwan being pawned off as the Pumpkins. Bring back James and D'arcy and then you have a real reunion.
heh | October 7, 2008 12:35 AM
Anon, if you are so hell bent on hearing D'arcy play bass out of time with the rest of the band there are tons of bootlegs out there.
Anon | October 6, 2008 9:41 PM
It isn't a reunion without James and D'arcy.
Anonymous | October 6, 2008 8:40 PM
"Long time fan". They must not have played the hits? Too bad that ticket couldn't have been used by someone who would have recognized true greatness.
ZzZZ | October 6, 2008 7:48 PM
is right, I saw one of the SF shows and they played way too long with way too many bullshit songs. This coming from a long time fan.
Zzzz | October 6, 2008 7:11 PM
Ahhh! I'm so excited. I love the pumpkins =)
