Originally released in 1972, "Fillmore: The Last Days," is a bad-ass concert film, documenting the final five days of the FIllmore, the legendary San Francisco that shut it's doors (for the first time) in the summer of 1971. Rhino will re-release a DVD of The Last Days in November. Highlights include performances by old school S.F. artists including the Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Airplane, Santana and Cold Blood.

I bought a "DVD" on Ebay, which turned out to be a DVD of someone videotaping their TV as the original was playing....grainy, bad sound, washed out color....but fascinating! i was too young to have ever been there (fillmore west) for the closing shows....and there aren't too many documentaries like this from and of a specific time..i had heard the master films were lost (like festival express 1970) but am so happy to see them restored! long live the fillmore!

Does anyone know why Boz Scaggs' performance from the original 'Last Days' film was omitted from this DVD?!! Very disappointing.

Wish they would have last days of Fillmore East and have Humble Pie and Zappa. Couldn't care less about the San Fran hippie stuff.

...I was waiting a while for it as well, but for selfish reasons...when it originally came out,the first release included a 14 second appearance or yours truly...about eight minutes into the original release, you see a shirtless kid in line, playing his harmonica...I can understand why they took it out, given the odd cut it was,but hopefully it wasn't because of my playing...oh well, after all these years,I'm a victim of the cutting room floor...still,I'm bummed,so now I have to find an original VHS if they exist...if I ever find that editor,I'll be moved to ask why my place in history was taken out...sniff...SG...
