Coldplay Sing "Yellow" in the Cheap Seats (Which Is Just Fine With Us)

June 24, 2008 5:20 PM

When Chris Martin announced that Coldplay was about to do something they’d “never done before” at last night’s free Madison Square Garden gig, the last thing I expected was for my nosebleeds to turn into the best seats in the house. After rocking a solid chunk of Viva La Vida and playing some obligatory hits ("Clocks," "In My Place"), the RS cover stars appeared in the middle of a second tier aisle for a hot acoustic minute. Here’s a blip I caught from their first song in the crowd with the people, “Yellow.”

you gotta love all the cell phone video recording going on around the band. How many versions of this are up on YouTube already?

Coldplay would be band I could like. If their songs wasn't so BL@#PING forgetable. (Tipping my hat to the late George Carlin by censoring the word "bleeping". Who knows who have that word on their list as a word you don't say all the time.)

no matter what you think his music, you must admit its pretty cool for an artist to just pop up in the crowd like that.
