There is nothing in the world your average music blogger loves more than Rolling Stone magazine. RS can do no wrong in their eyes. No matter whom we put on the cover — be it Guns N' Roses, Zac Efron, or Miss Piggy — the blogosphere rises up as one to applaud our wit, taste, and good looks.
Kidding! They totally hate us! Those dudes (and believe me, they are mostly dudes) can't stand anything about RS, just as political bloggers despise the New York Times and pet bloggers (presumably) loathe those corporate sell-outs over at Cat Fancy. Such is the natural order of things. But once in a while, the masochistic exercise of trolling for blog feedback on this publication actually yields real, live people who enjoy reading it. So today, let's celebrate two awesome Rolling Stone readers.
First up is Regina, a mom who was feeling out of touch with current music. A recent blog entry: "There I am in my Honda Civic, with my same straight flat hair, listening to Smashing Pumpkins, confused by Facebook… driving away into the sunset of my life. I can't keep up!" But then (and I am not making this up) Regina started reading Rolling Stone again. And now she's listening to LCD Soundsystem, Kanye West and the new Mary J. Blige.
Reader No. 2 is 25-year-old Demian. "I wasn't much of a Springsteen fan before last year," he wrote. "But then I read Rolling Stone's review of Magic and just had to listen to it: now Magic was probably my favorite album of 2007 and I'm a big fan of the guy." Nice.
Regina and Demian, I hereby declare you Rolling Stone’s first-ever "Readers of the Week." Anyone out there have nominations for next week?

Oh, well I don't really care that much as long as they try to remain humble and provide truthful information to those that need it. There are also concerns going around that the focus is more towards the politics than the music, so even though I love the current affairs articles and they are important, balance is significant as well.
I'd like to be a reader of the month because this is my favorite magazine, and I read it avidly. Over the years, the publication has helped me to form good judgment in political decisions, expand my taste in music, and learn many profound new lessons whether it be through an interview printed in RS, or something by the writers.

Could you get any more pompous? Ick.
