Went to the wrong bar in Toronto on January 26 '08 for $20…
Cool kids were late cause of snow… it’s all good.
In three mins they set up without sound check… personally they should have seen it cause no one in crowd felt them ‘cause they had no stage presence…
actually the people that felt them were the drunks at the front of the stage that drank themselves to a flamboyant vogue dancing art from…
so this guy gets up and starts dancing beside them, with no women on the stage… he looked like Fresh Prince posing with his extra medium shirt… EVENTUALLY HE MOVES TO THE FRONT OF THEM!
I’m about ready to giggle ‘cause I know in my heart that’s now how things go down in Chicago… WRONG!!! Nothing happens!!!
Not even when some drunken Richmond Hill starts using Antoine as his personal balancing buddy leaning up on his shoulder with a bottle in his hand…
anyways a whole bunch of these drunks start getting up on the stage and dance like that dave chapel parody of white people dancing euphorically
i come after (this guy gives him a demo cd just before me) the show asking Antoine (the only one left on the stage after about 10 mins) what happened and why he couldn’t get the batty boy off the stage… he told me it was 2 am and time for his nap… then I asked why he didn’t play something original and he said they gave us enough BLAST from the album…
all I could think about was how I wanted my $20 back and take his chain but he looked frightened that called him on his lame ass shoe…
cool kids are possers... don’t let anyone interfere with your art if your about it…
there’s soo much local talent here scarbro don’t fall into the trap of thinking that cool kids are about anything new or raw…
