Who: Calgary-born identical twins who started touring Canada on Greyhound buses in 2000.
Sounds Like: Smart, nuanced guitar-and-keyboard pop that merges Sara's angular, hook-filled ditties and Tegan's melancholic odes to heartbreak.
Three Things You Should Know:
- Tegan and Sara have five albums out, but 2004's So Jealous put them on the map in a major way: The album won a Juno (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) and the White Stripes released an EP named after the girls' angular pop gem "Walking With A Ghost" that included a high-wattage cover of the track.
- The 26-year-old identical twins may look and sound alike, but they insist they're totally different. "It's impossible for me to think Tegan sounds like me," Sara says. "I literally might as well be in a band with Nick Cave."
- They've been gleeful self-promoters since they were three years old. "For Christmas, my parents got us one of those Fisher-Price tape records," says Sara. "We were total narcissists: All we wanted to do was listen to our own voices."

And for the record, they look nothing alike, granted to the naked eye they appear the same, but if you actualy took the time to study and research them (aka stalk) you would see they are totall differet, personality wise and look wise, ad as far as sounding the same, they sound nothing alike, tho on their earlier albums (under feet like ours,this buisness of art) they sound rather alike, but on later albums, (if it was you)& beyond, you can realy tell the differences, sara has a realy umm girly high pitched voice, its super cute, tegan has a rugged beautiful voice, i dont quite know how to describe it, it realy goes all together great.
and lookwise, sara has a small jawline, tegans face is bigger,tegan also has bigger boobs ;o .. there hair is different, they dress totally different...

the album did not win a juno, it was nominated but lost to arcade fire (if im right) imo it should have won, it was much better.
