Zwan's "Star" Rises

Corgan's new band to release first album in January

Billy Corgan's new band Zwan will release its debut album, Mary Star of the Sea, on January 28th on Reprise Records.

Fans can preview the first single, "Honestly," via www.zwan.com, where they can also check out live footage and home movies of the band.

Zwan made their live debut in 2001, a year after the Smashing Pumpkins disbanded. In addition to Corgan on vocals and guitar, the band features the Pumpkins' Jimmy Chamberlin on drums; Paz Lenchantin, formerly of A Perfect Circle, on bass; David Pajo, formerly of Slint and Tortoise, on guitar; and Matt Sweeney, formerly of Chavez, on guitar. All five band members share vocal duties.

The band is out on the road this month, mainly hitting radio station Christmas shows, mixing in a few dates at smaller venues.
