Marley, Dead Guys to Play Furthur 2000

Furthur Fest will feature usual Dead suspects, Ziggy Marley

Posted Jun 08, 2000 12:00 AM

After a spat between former Grateful Dead members nixed the Furthur Festival last year, the jam-band extravaganza will start trucking again this summer. While Phil Lesh hits the road with Bob Dylan, the Other Ones will return featuring Dead alums new and old, including Bob Weir on vocals and guitar, percussionist Mickey Hart and Bruce Hornsby on keys. Bassist Alphonso Johnson and guitarists Mark Karan and Steve Kimock will round out the unit. Fellow hemp enthusiasts Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers have also been tapped for the bill. The breakdown will be a two-hour set by the Other Ones, an hour by Ziggy and sets by various other units who will join on a city-to-city basis.
