Yellowcard will hit the road in support of their fifth effort, Lights and Sounds, the follow-up of 2003's platinum-selling album, Ocean Avenue, as the headliner for the third annual Virgin College Mega Tour. The jaunt kicks off on April 7th at Richard Stockton College in Pomona, New Jersey. The trek will mark the second U.S. outing for the Southern California band, whose second major-label effort hit the charts this week at Number Five.

Lights, written last winter in New York, was a departure for Yellowcard, who admit that the new record shows their darker side. "New York in the winter . . . brought out some darker places in us," frontman Ryan Key told Rolling Stone. "Emotionally darker."

The emo five-piece will hit twenty campuses across the country.

The rockers wrapped their fall jaunt on December 1st in Anaheim, California, though many dates -- along with several U.K. shows -- were canceled due to a nodule on Key's vocal cord.
