Your Turn
Review 1 of 1
cjrmack writes:
Coming a year after Mummer this could not be more different. Big, brash, and noisy for the most part and yet it is very melodic.
I am not sure XTC ever rocked as hard before or ever again as on "Reign Of Blows" and "Train Running Low On Soul Coal".
Other cuts of interest are the sea-chanty "All You Pretty Girls", The new-wave hoe down "Shake You Donkey Up" and classic British Pop on "Seagulls Screaming", and "The Everyday Story of Smalltown", "You're the Wish You Are I had and "I Remember the Sun". Partridges disdain for the music business pops up again in "I Bought Myself A Liarbird". The only cut that seems out of place is the Police sounding "This World Over" which is pretty much as the title says a depressing song about the end of the world due to a nuclear holcaust.
Overall an excellent effort
