Is there such a thing as too eclectic? Since his dynamic 1997 solo debut, The Carnival, the Haitian ex-Fugee has seemed out to prove his many and varied talents: He sings, raps, produces, plays guitar (and several other instruments), speaks English, French, Spanish and Creole (and a few other languages), has production credit on monster hits like Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" and maintains a fat Rolodex. On this coda to Carnival, that last asset — the Rolodex — is more apparent than ever: A wildly diverse crowd — including Paul Simon, Mary J. Blige, Norah Jones and Minister Louis Farrakhan (!) — appears, making the affair feel like a hipper Epcot Center. The musical styles are just as diverse, from the raga-reggae mash-up "Welcome to the East," with Farrakhan on violin and a Sizzla verse, to the amped-up agit-rocker "Riot," with Serj Tankian, and acoustic-folk duet "Fast Car" (not Tracy Chapman's), with Paul Simon — all of them vibrant and few expected. It's a breathtaking, ambitious ride through a carnival of global music too rarely explored.

This was an amazing CD! I had listened to The Carnival Vol. 1, and The Ecleftic, and they were both really good. But, then I didn't listen to any of his other CD's before picking this up. And it's as far from a let down as possible. I got the 2-Disc Deluxe Edition (which is the version I'd reccomend, because, Disc 1 is not that long, and on Disc 2 you get 5 bonus tracks and 3 music videos).
Riot - On this track Wyclef comes with so much power it blows you away. This track is meant to played very loudly.
Sweetest Girl - The first single is the best song on the album. Wyclef's amazing, so is Akon, and so is Lil' Wayne. It is impossible not to sing along, trust me, I've tried.
Welcome To The East - Okay, not my favorite, but not bad.
Slow Down - Wyclef with The King Of The South, amazing. T.I. is amazing and Wyclef is great too. At the end Wyclef has a very, very, very good guitar solo.
King & Queen - Wyclef + Shakira = magic (enough said)! Very catchy.
Fast Car - Another great song! This track is just powerful. It moved me.
What About The Baby - Pretty good, just not my cup of tea. But, a decent track.
Hollywood Meets Bollywood - My 2nd favorite track. It is so good. Wyclef and Chamillionaire are so amazing together is shocking!
Any Other Day - A good track, with just a little too much of Norah Jone's style.
Heaven's In New York - Good, makes you think.
Selena - Pretty good, very interesting.
Touch Your Button Carnival Jam - Long, but I love it!
Now for the bonus tracks:
Million Voices - I absolutely love this song.
Emmanuelle - Pretty good, a head-bobber.
Sweetest Girl (REMIX) - Not great.
China Wine - Party track.
On Tour - I like this song.
