International fans of Widespread Panic who have never seen the Athens, Ga.,-based group live may now get their chance.|

On March 6, Panic kick off a six-date stint in Australia and New Zealand, a first for this group. Their initial stop is The Metro in Sydney. From there they hit venues in five other cities including Melbourne and Auckland.

Following their stay Down Under, Panic head to the City of Lights for a 10-night stay at the Chesterfield CafT in Paris starting on March 17. The band's lead guitarist, Mike Houser, told JAMTV that they have a large fan base in Paris, comprising both Parisians and Americans. "We're going to have a contest each night at the Chesterfield," Houser said. "We want to know just how many people from France are actually in the crowd."

After Paris, Panic play a gig each night in Amsterdam, Hamburg and London.

This summer, Houser said Panic will embark on a full U.S. tour and may even bring bands like moe. and Leftover Salmon along for the ride. "We want to make [the tour] like an event, but not like the H.O.R.D.E.," he said. "It will hopefully be in a musical style that everyone can appreciate." (Ari Bendersky)
