Although singer Nina Gordon cut the "salt" out of her diet, she's currently working on new material that should make things spicy again.|

The former co-founder of Veruca Salt announced her departure from the group last month and is currently working on a solo career. Gordon is in the midst of writing and demoing new songs, a spokesman for her label, Geffen Records, told JAMTV.

The Chicago native will soon meet with producers and decide where she'll record her debut solo album. Recording is tentatively scheduled to begin some time this summer, the Geffen spokesman told us.
