Planning on taking a trip to Chicago this weekend? If not, maybe
you'd like to change your plans. If so, listen up: local radio
station Rock 103.5/WRCX-FM plays host to
Rockstock '97| this Saturday at the New
World Music Theatre. Doors at the venue will open at noon
and the show kicks off an hour later featuring 20 bands on three
stages. Since this is a festival, there won't be a headliner,
according to Kate Darling, marketing director for
the radio station. All the bands, including Veruca Salt,
Megadeth, Faith No More, Silverchair, Local H, Seven Mary Three,
Helmet, Cracker, the Nixons and Joan Jett
will play between 30 and 60 minutes. The festival rages on until 11
p.m. Saturday. (AB)
