Vanessa Carlton to Play With Moby

Singer also appearing in Candies campaign

Moby has approached Vanessa Carlton to write and sing on a remix of "Sunday (The Day Before My Birthday)," a track from his latest album, 18. "It's all in the works," Carlton says. "We have to work our schedules out, but it's very flattering."

The twenty-one-year-old singer has been in demand of late. In addition to a hit album, Be Not Nobody, and single, "A Thousand Miles," she can be heard on Counting Crows' version of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi," a hidden track on the band's new album, Hard Candy.

She will also be featured in a fall ad campaign for fashionwear company Candies Inc., whose photo spreads are typically campy, colorful and provocative.

"I love the Candies pictures because you see a woman using her power in a way that's not abusing her power," she says. "I'm not naked or anything. I'm wearing an off-the-shoulder thing, jeans and high boots. I'm sitting on a white piano, I'm eating lo mein noodles with chopsticks and smiling. It's fun."
