(NEW YORK) - Tricky has cut a track expressing his ire that his reputed uncle, reggae artist Finley Quaye, is using the family connection to boost his own career.|

In "Can't Freestyle," the Island electronica artist brings the relation into question, muttering over a stark, dubby groove, "Call yourself a Quaye/Leave that for another day/Don't you feel no shame/Taking my mother's name in vain/If you are/How come I never met you before/Until a year ago/When I was on tour?"

Elsewhere, he adds, "You want to be my blood/But he gets no love/Cause I didn't see you/I can't see you/Back around in the days/I see the lies on your page."

John Vlautin, senior VP of media relations at Island Records U.S., says the song is Tricky's sole words on the situation. "When the relations issue came up, Tricky didn't want to comment on it beyond this recording," he says. "Can't Freestyle" was to be included on Tricky's forthcomingIsland set, Angels With Dirtyfaces, due June 2 in the U.S., but was later dropped because the artist "felt it didn't fit with the album," according to Vlautin.

Island has no plans to release "Can't Freestyle," although Tricky has allowed Vlautin to make the song available to the media.
