Tracy Chapman "Lets It Rain"

Singer wraps up work on her sixth album

Tracy Chapman will release her sixth album, Let It Rain, on October 15th. The singer-songwriter is completing the album, which will be the follow-up to 2000's Telling Stories, in Northern California. The first single, "You're the One" was already released to radio and can be heard on Chapman's official site, www.elektra.com/elektra/tracychapman.

Chapman co-produced the album with John Parish, who has worked with PJ Harvey, the Eels, and Beck. (Parish's own album How Animals Move is due September 10th.) Drummer Joey Waronker (R.E.M, Smashing Pumpkins) and guitarist Joe Gore (Harvey, Tom Waits), collaborated with Chapman on Let It Rain.
