With tracks from Tortoise, Calexico and a house band that includes Jack Johnson, skateboarding musician Tommy Guerrero and keyboardist Money Mark, this indie but deeply lush surf soundtrack evokes awesome waves and sunny skies without resorting to surf-music cliches. Hope Sandoval, Sam Prekop and the Shins supply understated vocals, while Oliver Nelson brings vintage jazz sax.
