Tone Loc, the first black rap artist to hit number one on the Billboard pop album chart (following the Beastie Boys' first #1 rap album), isreturning to the mic|, if only for a single track. According to MTV News, Cool Hand Loc has recently recorded a cover of Gary Wright's 1976 rock classic "Dream Weaver," which will serve as the theme song for the upcoming, as-yet unsold television series, Dream Weavers, which he'll also be starring in. Loc will perform the theme song at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, on Wednesday, January 26.

Also set to star in Dream Weavers is Ashley Hamilton - son of George Hamilton and former husband of Shannen Doherty, Robert Carradine - son of John Carradine, half-brother of David Carradine, and brother of Keith Carradine, and Frank Gorshin, who isn't related to anybody particularly famous, but did achieve some fame himself, as the Riddler on TV's Batman.

The ex-Crip has also recently remixed and released his two biggest hits, as Tone Loc (Meets Zz Brothers): "Wild Thing Y2k", and "Funky Cold Medina Y2k."- Werner
