Snider’s last two albums are fantastic, showing off an ace songwriter and a funny motherfucker. This odds-and-sods collection isn’t as strong, or as distinct, as either, but it still has plenty of good stuff: namely, warm, tuneful acoustic material like the sad story-song “Some Things Are” and sort-of-country stuff like “Combover Blues,” in which not even weed can cheer up the broke-down narrator anymore.
