This record is, according to the liner blurb, supposed to answer the question, "Who's Todd Rundgren?" The answer is that he is the guy who formed the well-hyped group the Nazz back in Philadelphia a few years ago, and went on to become one of the best engineers in the recording business, being listed as chief engineer on Stage Fright. As a musician, though, he is merely competent, and one gets the impression off of this record that he has spent a whole lot of time listening to a whole lot of groups in the studio and absorbed their facility without absorbing any of their originality. Sometimes the question "Who's he?" is better left unanswered...
