In addition, the Sept. 4 show, which is airing live from Radio City Music Hall in New York to countries all over the world, will feature Janet Jackson, Will Smith, Fiona Apple, No Doubt and others as award presenters.
In other MTV related news, the music network is gearing up to kick off yet another new show. On Oct. 14, MTV will premiere "Live From the 10 Spot," a weekly program featuring a different band performing live each week. The first show will entice fans with a half hour performance with the Rolling Stones, as well as an interview session preceding the concert.
This show will be different than MTV's "Unplugged" in that it
will be totally live either from various venues throughout New York
or from a new studio being built at MTV's headquarters. "'Live From
the 10 Spot' will be a series airing each week," said
Jessica Rovins, a spokeswoman for MTV. "Nothing
else on MTV is live with the exception of the Video Music Awards,"
Rovins said. "We've only announced the show with the Stones, but
all types of MTV bands will be featured." (AB)
