The Wallflowers will begin sessions on their fifth album in July.
The follow-up to 2002's
Red Letter Days finds the group
working with producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Bruce
Springsteen) for the first time, with plans for a release in early
2005.
O'Brien will also be in tow when the band launches the
thirteen-date Back to California tour of the West Coast on June
10th in El Cajon California. "The band has been talking with
Brendan about working together for a long time," frontman Jakob
Dylan said, "and we're thrilled that the timing is finally right to
make a record with him. Yes, he is a producer of great distinction
and yes he plays a mean guitar, but he is the new guy and we hope
he doesn't think he's getting a good bunk on the bus."
