Memphis is about to rock hard and the Wallflowers are going to help make it happen.|

Hard Rock Cafe announced Tuesday that it will open its 83rd rock 'n' roll restaurant and store in Memphis, Tenn. on Sunday, Nov. 16. The opening of the new Cafe, which is located on Memphis' famous Beale Street, will be celebrated with a free performance by Interscope Records artist the Wallflowers and a local band called The North Mississippi All Stars.

Following the free show the theme restaurant will host a $75 per person charity dinner featuring entertainment by blues artist Marvell Thomas, singer-songwriter Dan Penn, and rockabilly great Billy Lee Riley. All proceeds will benefit the National Civil Rights Museum and the Memphis chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS).

"Memphis is a musical mecca," notes Hard Rock CEO Jim Berk, "and it is only appropriate that the Hard Rock Cafe celebrate the city's rich musical heritage with an all-out, blow-out night of entertainment." (Seth Hindin)
