Wallflowers Continue Stellar Year With More Touring

Posted Nov 06, 1997 12:00 AM

The Wallflowers, fronted by Jakob Dylan, have already sold more albums than the singer's famous father, Bob, and this weekend they reach another milestone -- opening for the Rolling Stones at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.|

The L.A.-based quintet launched onto the music scene with the release of their album, Bringing Down The Horse. That album has produced such hits as "6th Avenue Heartache," "One Headlight" and now "Three Marlenas," a sweet ballad that highlights Jakob's passionate vocals.

They've been in the Billboard charts for 69 weeks and peaked at No. 4, and now the Wallflowers are currently on tour -- again. They will be on the road through the middle of December, wrapping things up Dec. 18 in St. Cloud, Minn., not too far from Hibbing, Minn., where Bob Dylan grew up. (Ari Bendersky)
