The Verve stirred up some controversy of their own when the band closed out the festival's final night with some words from frontman Richard Ashcroft: "I want to thank Emily Eavis for inviting us to play Glastonbury," he said. "I hope her dad realizes why she booked us now. I think he was a bit worried we wouldn't be as good as Keane or something."
