(NEW YORK) - Canada's favorite sons the Tragically Hip will celebrate the release of their eighth album -- and debut bow for Sire Records in the U.S. -- with four intimate club shows. |

The performances, to be held July 21-24 at New York's Wetlands Preserve, will kick off the band's summer tour in support of its Phantom Power disc, which will street July 14. The group will hold similar small-scale shows in several U.S. cities visited during its outing, including San Francisco, Chicago and Boston.

Formerly signed to Atlantic, the Tragically Hip reached No. 134 on The Billboard 200 with its last studio album, the 1996 releases Trouble At The Henhouse. Although wide-scale success has eluded the group in the U.S., the band is legendary in its native Canada for its live performances and founding of the bi-annual Another Roadside Attraction Tour.
