It looks as if the Spice Girls have been really busy lately. While riding the uncanny success of their worldwide multiplatinum debut album, Spice, the Girls have been in the recording studio working on a follow up. | The first single, "Spice Up Your Life," from the group's sophomore attempt, tentatively titled Spice World, is expected this October.

Not only are the Royal Spicey Ones releasing a new album, but they are also starring in their very own movie called, what else, "Spice - The Movie" -- due to hit screens across the globe the day after Christmas.

Further, the Spice Girls will bring their lively act to folks around the globe. First they are off to New Delhi to make an appearance at the 1997 Channel V Music Awards -- marking their first visit ever to India. The event, which takes place Oct. 18 and is a joint venture between STAR TV, BMG, EMI Music, Sony Picutres Entertainment and Warner Group, will be held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. The show is India's major pop honors, recognizing both local and international talent.

Then once the Girls have eaten their fair share of chutney and curry, they fly off to South Africa to perform at the Nations Trust, South Africa's equivalent to England's Prince's Trust. It seems that Prince Charles himself requested the presence of the Girls for the show that will take place Nov. 1 outside of Johannesburg. (AB)
