Detroit heavy-garage trio the Sights open this album with a hymn: "I'm Going to Live the Life I Sing About in My Song," by the big daddy of black gospel song, Thomas A. Dorsey, and bulked up with the crunch and swagger of late-Sixties Bob Seger. Then singer-guitarist Eddie Baranek and organist Bobby Emmett -- with ex-drummer Dave Shettler on most tracks (Mike Trombley now brings the boom) -- make good on that vow by ripping into "Will I Be True?" and "Last Chance" as if the Grande Ballroom, Detroit's old acid-dance hall, is still open for business. You also hear the Sights' love of the Faces long before you get to the hidden-bonus cover of "Stay With Me."
