The thawed-out Eighties-era grooves of his recent debut album suffered from freezer burn, but British producer Trevor Jackson, a.k.a. Playgroup, fares much better showcasing his prodigious record collection. Whether it's old-school rap from Wanda Dee or the Rapture's new take on danceable post-punk, Jackson spins a dazzlingly eclectic and consistently funky set guaranteed to get any party started right.
