Last week, JAMTV reported that Prodigy's new album, The Fat Of The Land, sold 200,000 copies in the States and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's album charts. But did the band think the album was going to blow through the roof all over the world? The Fat Of The Land currently sits at No. 1 in 22 territories, including the U.K. the U.S., Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada and Hong Kong. The band sold close to 700,000 albums in the U.S., England and Japan alone, and an additional 50,000 copies in other parts of Asia. And the folks at Maverick couldn't he happier. "It exceeded all our expectations, but we'll stay humble," said Dave Neupert, spokesman for the band. "We'd like to reach as many people as possible, but we still need more radio play." (AB)
