The controversial British techno/dance group Prodigy will make headlines again this Saturday when it will become the first major band to perform in the Middle East war zone of Beirut. |

The ferocious electronica group will play the perilous capital city of Lebanon from atop a custom-built stage in the center of Martyrs Square. The platform will be erected through the center of Beirut's "green line" -- the former frontline for warring factions -- where they will likely perform their controversial song "Smack My Bitch Up" from 1997's double-platinum album Fat of the Land.

Prodigy will continue to tour overseas following this Middle East show, and will return to the United States in early June. The flamboyant group is scheduled to appear on MTV's "Live from the 10 Spot" this summer as well. (Anni Layne)
