Shortly after the 1995 death of guitarist/singer Jerry Garcia, the other members of the Dead went their separate ways, with some in-fighting amongst them. Weir formed RatDog, Lesh started Phil Lesh and Friends, Hart toured with Bembe Orisha and earlier this year Kreutzmann recorded with the TriChromes. The members buried their respective hatchets in August, though, for a pair of the Other Ones shows at a two-day festival in Wisconsin, in addition to performing with their respective ensembles.
"It seems as though seven years was just the right amount of time to see clearly our mission," Hart said. "That mission is, and always was, to touch the soul and give light to all who would listen. And don't forget all the big fun that awaits us this fall, as once again we wrestle with the mighty beast. The magic is back."
